Welcome to IDGA’s 3rd Annual Irregular Warfare Summit
Transforming Regular Armed Forces into Irregular Combat Machines

» Download the Draft Agenda

Irregular warfare has been a constantly evolving form of combat over the past few decades as US forces have adapted to each new challenge. Today, the Department of Defense is looking to enhance irregular warfare capabilities through increasing its focus on small scale operations and hybrid beds of activity. The United States continues to prioritize its endeavor of using unconventional warfare principles to morph regular armed forces into experts capable of countering unofficial state and non-state groups who pose threats to peace across the world.

“As U.S. forces draw down in Afghanistan, our global counter terrorism efforts will become more widely distributed and will be characterized by a mix of direct action and security force assistance…we will continue to build and sustain tailored capabilities appropriate for counter terrorism and irregular warfare.”
- President Barack Obama, January 5, 2012

IDGA’s Annual Irregular Warfare Summit will explore the latest news and advancements in technologies and the lessons learned from recent efforts. It will also take a closer look at the process of developing asymmetric military strategies and forces that can operate within diverse threat environments.
